New Bowl Projection For Missouri Heading Into Saturday’s Action

Let’s take a look at the latest regarding where Missouri football could land.Mizzou flew under the radar a bit, with how many other SEC teams thrived this season. The Tigers wound up having a really nice season under Barry Odom, whose jump seemed in flux just last year.Mizzou picked up what now looks like a really nice road win at Purdue early in the year, and beat Memphis, which looks like the likely AAC Champion as of this writing, by 32 at mid-year. Later in the year, the Tigers upset Florida in Gainesville, but they did struggle a bit against the other top SEC teams that they faced.A new bowl projection has Missouri football heading down to Memphis to play in the Liberty Bowl.On Friday, Sports Illustrated’s Eric Single released a new set of bowl projections. He projected that the Tigers will head to the Liberty Bowl to face Oklahoma State out of the Big 12.The former conference rivals have played a lot over the years, with Mizzou holding a 29-23 advantage all time. The two have met one time since conference realignment, when the Cowboys beat the Pokes 41-31 in the 2014 Cotton Bowl.Mizzou is 1-1 all-time in the Liberty Bowl, beating LSU in 1978, and falling to Purdue two years later.The Liberty Bowl will be played at 3:45 p.m. ET on December 31.
